In New York City, the Reagans are a family built around law enforcement, with each generation carrying a different view of duty and justice. Tom Selleck is Frank Reagan, the police commissioner, managing both the department and a household where the job follows everyone home. Donnie Wahlberg's Danny, Frank's eldest son, is a detective and Iraq War veteran whose blunt approach to cases often tests the rules. Frank's daughter Erin serves as an assistant district attorney and the family's legal conscience, while his youngest son Jamie follows the family tradition into uniform under the long shadow of former chief Henry Reagan.
