Bend of the River

ActionAdventureDramaRomanceWestern91 min

In the Oregon frontier, a hard-used cowboy joins a wagon train heading into homesteader country, where settlers are trying to build a town before winter closes in. When gold is discovered nearby, the rush for quick profit throws everything off balance. Supplies meant to keep the settlers alive are seized, and the trip turns into a fight over who will eat, trade, and survive. James Stewart plays the man who takes on the dangerous job of getting those goods through, even as greed, shifting loyalties, and the lawlessness of the boom country close around him. What begins as a delivery becomes a chase through rough country, with the settlement's future riding on it.
