After a Soviet spacecraft crashes back to Earth in 1983, the military isolates the mission’s lone conscious survivor in a remote facility and brings in psychologist Tatiana Klimova to evaluate him. Oksana Akinshina is Tatiana, a sharp outsider pulled into a tightly controlled Cold War operation, while Pyotr Fyodorov’s cosmonaut carries gaps in his memory and signs that the disaster did not end in orbit. As Tatiana’s sessions continue under armed guard, the case turns from trauma assessment toward the possibility that something dangerous came back from space with him.
