Kate & Leopold

ComedyFantasyRomance118 min

Kate is a fast-moving New York executive whose life gets stranger when her scientist ex-boyfriend (Liev Schreiber) opens a portal to the 1870s and arrives with Leopold, a polished duke dropped into 21st-century Manhattan. Meg Ryan’s Kate is left to keep an eye on the bewildered nobleman, while Hugh Jackman gives Leopold the formal manners and old-world confidence of a man badly out of time. Between ad-agency deadlines, TV commercials, and the everyday shocks of modern city life, their wary introduction turns into an increasingly complicated romance, with Leopold’s return to his own century hanging over everything.
