The House of the Devil
HorrorMystery95 min
Cash-strapped college student Sam takes an overnight babysitting job at a remote house, only to learn there is no child and that the errand lines up with a total lunar eclipse. Jocelin Donahue is Sam, whose need for apartment money pushes her past one warning sign after another, from a ride out with her skeptical friend Megan (Greta Gerwig) to the unsettling hospitality of the Ulmans. Tom Noonan and Mary Woronov give the elderly couple a watchful, off-kilter calm as the empty rooms, locked doors, and occult hints around the house start to close in.
