Sy Parrish spends his days developing snapshots at a SavMart photo counter, and over the years he has come to feel woven into the life of one customer family. Robin Williams is Sy, a lonely technician who has watched the Yorkins grow through their film rolls; Connie Nielsen and Michael Vartan are Nina and Will, the parents at the center of his fixation. As Sy’s private attachment deepens, the routines of suburban retail and family albums start to curdle into voyeurism, and the polished images he handles every day become a way into the Yorkins’ home.
