An American Haunting

DramaHorrorMysteryThriller83 min

In rural Tennessee in the early 1800s, the Bell family is besieged by an unseen presence that begins with strange disturbances around their farm and grows increasingly violent as buried secrets rise to the surface. Donald Sutherland and Sissy Spacek are the parents trying to hold the household together, while Rachel Hurd-Wood is the daughter the entity seems to single out. Drawn from the Bell Witch legend and a case long recorded in American folklore, the film keeps its focus on a family under pressure, where every noise, injury, and accusation pushes the haunting closer to home.
