A Room with a View
DramaRomance117 min
On a trip to Florence with her chaperone, young Lucy Honeychurch finds her carefully arranged future unsettled by the Emersons, a father and son whose openness cuts through Edwardian manners. Helena Bonham Carter is Lucy, torn between George Emerson (Julian Sands), whom she meets in Tuscany, and the bookish fiancé waiting for her in Surrey, with Daniel Day-Lewis as the respectable match her family expects. Moving between sunlit Italy and drawing-room England, the film follows Lucy as travel, class, and desire begin to complicate the life already being arranged for her.
