Frank

ComedyDramaMystery95 min

Domhnall Gleeson’s Jon is a would-be songwriter who stumbles into a slot with an avant-garde band and quickly finds himself out of his depth. At the center is Frank (Michael Fassbender), the group’s mysterious frontman, a musician who never removes the oversized fake head he wears in public or private. Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Clara watches Jon with open suspicion as rehearsals lurch between inspired breakthroughs and total collapse. What starts as a dream opportunity for Jon becomes a close-up look at a band with its own rules, rivalries, and unstable chemistry.
