Six months into a solo mission to the edge of the solar system, an isolated astronaut starts reckoning with the life he left behind as the distance between him and his wife grows harder to ignore. Adam Sandler is the man inside the spacecraft, cut off from Earth and from the marriage waiting for him there, while Carey Mulligan is the partner whose absence hangs over every transmission. Then a mysterious creature emerges from the shadows of the ship and becomes an unlikely confidant, turning the silence of deep space into something stranger and more personal.
