Machine Gun Preacher

ActionAdventureCrimeDocumentaryDramaThriller129 min

After leaving behind a life of drugs and biker gangs, Gerard Butler is Sam Childers, a newly converted preacher who travels to East Africa and becomes consumed by the fate of children kidnapped and forced into combat in Sudan. What starts as humanitarian work turns into a personal campaign as Sam builds an orphanage near militia territory and moves toward armed rescues. At home, his wife (Michelle Monaghan) is left to absorb the strain as his religious awakening and expanding mission reshape their family. Drawn from Childers' life, the film stays focused on faith, violence, and the uneasy line between ministry and war.
