Kaya (Udita Goswami) has grown up in Spiti expecting to enter a Buddhist monastery, a future she has never questioned because it was chosen for her long ago. Mohan Agashe is her father, the man who has guided her toward that life from childhood. When a senior lama dreams that the Rinpoche has been reborn as a young boy, Kaya is sent to Delhi to find the child and bring him back to the monastery. The story moves from the stillness of the Himalayan valley into a city far removed from everything Kaya knows, as faith, duty, and the outside world begin to press in on her.
