The Mirror Has Two Faces
ComedyDramaRomance126 min
Rose Morgan is a Romantic Literature professor still living with her mother, torn between fantasy and frustration as she waits for the grand passion she teaches about. Barbra Streisand's Rose crosses paths with Gregory Larkin, a mathematician who wants the opposite: companionship without sex after too many turbulent relationships. Jeff Bridges gives Gregory an offhand calm that clashes with Rose's longing, and Lauren Bacall turns up the pressure as Rose's sharp-tongued mother. What begins with a personal ad and an unlikely courtship leads to an unconventional marriage built on friendship, intellect, and a carefully negotiated distance.
