Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

FantasyHorrorThriller99 min

Bailee Madison is Sally, a withdrawn young girl sent to a 19th-century Rhode Island mansion to live with her father. While Guy Pearce’s Alex and his girlfriend Kim (Katie Holmes) focus on restoring the house, Sally starts hearing whispers from a sealed ash pit in the basement and discovers small, malevolent creatures that want to claim her as one of their own. Written by Guillermo del Toro with Matthew Robbins, the film keeps its horror close to the house itself: hidden passages, old machinery, and the sense that the rooms are already occupied.
