The Black Dahlia
CrimeDramaMysteryThriller121 min
In 1940s Los Angeles, two former boxers turned LAPD detectives take on the sensational murder of an aspiring actress, a case that draws them into police corruption, stag films, and the secrets of a prominent family. Josh Hartnett is one half of the partnership, with Aaron Eckhart as the detective whose fixation on the crime starts to spill into his private life. Scarlett Johansson and Hilary Swank enter the story from opposite sides of the investigation, as the search for the killer moves through Hollywood parties, tabloid spectacle, and old-money scandal. Brian De Palma frames the case as a glossy, shadowy noir.
