Pleasantville

ComedyDramaFantasy124 min

David, a TV-obsessed teenager, and his popular twin sister are pulled into the black-and-white world of a 1950s sitcom, where every day in Pleasantville follows the same spotless script. Tobey Maguire is David, thrilled to know the town’s rules; Jennifer (Reese Witherspoon) has no interest in staying inside them, and her arrival starts changing the place in ways nobody can ignore. As color begins appearing in a world built on routine and certainty, the town’s diners, classrooms, and living rooms become sites of conflict over desire, knowledge, and who gets to decide how life is supposed to look.
