A decade before Captain Kirk’s era, Starfleet officer Michael Burnham is thrust into crises that stretch from first-contact missions to war and unexplained threats aboard the U.S.S. Discovery. Sonequa Martin-Green is Burnham, a gifted specialist whose judgment and loyalties are tested as the ship pushes toward new worlds, strange life forms, and the limits of Federation rules. Doug Jones’s Saru brings a cautious command presence, while Anthony Rapp’s Paul Stamets drives some of Discovery’s most unusual scientific leaps. Across its missions, the series ties alien encounters and galactic mysteries to Burnham’s search for where she belongs within Starfleet.
