After a stunt-heavy act of defiance puts him on the government's radar, extreme sports daredevil Xander Cage is forced into a very different arena: espionage. Recruited by an NSA handler played by Samuel L. Jackson, Xander is sent to Central Europe to get close to a heavily armed Russian cell suspected of planning a major attack. His recklessness helps him pass as an outsider, but it also makes him hard to control once he is inside their world. As the mission deepens, Xander has to improvise through surveillance, double-crosses, and high-speed chases while figuring out who he can trust and how far the plot reaches.
