Sent deep into the conflict-ridden jungle of Central India for election duty, an earnest government clerk insists on holding a free and fair vote even as security forces treat the process with indifference and the threat of communist rebel attacks hangs over the day. Rajkummar Rao is the meticulous official at the center of it, clinging to procedure when everyone around him sees the assignment as either pointless or dangerous. Pankaj Tripathi is part of the team caught in that standoff, as the film turns a routine polling exercise into a sharp look at bureaucracy, democracy, and survival under pressure.
