Eastbound & Down

After flaming out of the major leagues, former pitcher Kenny Powers returns to Shelby, North Carolina, and lands back at his old middle school as a substitute P.E. teacher. He still sees himself as a star, even as he moves in with family, faces people who remember exactly who he used to be, and tries to claw his way back to baseball. At school and around town, Kenny’s oversized ego turns every slight into a feud and every reunion into a mess. Danny McBride centers the series as a man who keeps chasing fame long after it has slipped away, with each comeback scheme colliding with his temper, vanity, and the small town he never planned to come home to.
