Coach Carter

Drama136 min

In 1999, Richmond High’s new basketball coach raises the bar as sharply in the classroom as he does on the court. Samuel L. Jackson is Ken Carter, who takes over a talented team and lays down strict rules about grades, attendance, and discipline. When those standards aren’t met, he benches his undefeated players and turns a winning season into a public fight over education, ambition, and responsibility. Rob Brown is among the young athletes forced to confront what Carter is asking of them, as the story follows the team, their families, and a school community caught between victories and long-term stakes.
