DocumentaryDramaRomance144 min

After injuries and the Depression push James J. Braddock out of boxing, he gets an unlikely shot back in the ring, hoping a comeback can pull his family out of poverty. Russell Crowe is Braddock, a once-promising fighter trying to keep food on the table as the stakes around each bout grow larger. At home, Renée Zellweger's Mae fears what another climb through the heavyweight ranks could cost them. Paul Giamatti appears as manager Joe Gould, still hustling for chances when most of the boxing world has written Braddock off.
