A Friday afternoon on a South Central Los Angeles porch turns into a scramble when Craig and his fast-talking friend Smokey realize they owe a local drug dealer $200 by nightfall. Ice Cube is Craig, an unemployed young man trying to keep the day from sliding further off course, while Chris Tucker’s Smokey keeps talking his way from one neighborhood problem to the next. As the hours pass, the two drift through a single block’s worth of trouble, crossing paths with a local bully, irritated family members, and the neighbors who make the street feel lived-in.
