But I'm a Cheerleader

ComedyDramaRomance85 min

A high school cheerleader is blindsided when her parents decide she must be a lesbian and send her to a residential conversion therapy camp. There, every part of life is turned into a lesson in “proper” masculinity and femininity, from the way the teens dress to the chores they do and the desires they are supposed to deny. As Megan tries to follow the program, the camp’s rigid rules only sharpen her doubts about the life laid out for her. Natasha Lyonne’s Megan begins to see herself more clearly, and her growing connection with another girl, played by Clea DuVall, turns the camp’s forced makeover into a fight over who gets to define her.
