World's Greatest Dad

ComedyDrama99 min

A frustrated high school poetry teacher is barely holding his life together when his cruel, troubled teenage son dies in a sudden accident at home. Panicked about how the death will be seen, he stages the scene to look like a suicide and writes a note he thinks will spare his son humiliation. Instead, the fake note turns the boy into a campus legend and the father into the keeper of a lie that keeps growing. As grieving classmates, hungry media, and school administrators seize on the story, Lance finds himself trapped between guilt, unexpected attention, and the version of his son everyone prefers. Robin Williams leads a satire about grief, fame, and the stories people choose to believe.
