Tumbbad
DramaFantasyHorrorThriller113 min
In 1918 India, Vinayak grows up on the outskirts of Tumbbad, a cursed village where it never seems to stop raining, and his family tends to a mysterious old woman who knows the secret of an ancestral treasure. Sohum Shah is Vinayak, whose fixation on that hidden fortune pulls him back toward the village’s buried past and the creature bound up with its legend. Period detail, folk mythology, and a creeping sense of rot run through the story as greed turns a family secret into something darker.
