Michael J. Fox is Mike Flaherty, the deputy mayor of New York City, a workaholic fixer who spends his days cleaning up after Barry Bostwick’s Mayor Randall Winston and keeping City Hall from imploding. Mike’s office runs on constant damage control, with a staff that’s good at the job and messy everywhere else: an anxious press secretary, a boorish chief of staff, a polished minority-affairs director, a sharp accountant, and an idealistic young speechwriter. The series turns the mayor’s office into a fast-moving tangle of press disasters, political maneuvering, and workplace friction.
