In 1878, as the Meiji era pushes Japan beyond the age of the sword, Junichi Okada is Shujiro, a once-undefeated samurai who enters a deadly survival game to save his family and the villagers depending on him. What begins at Kyoto’s Tenryuji Temple pulls in 292 fallen samurai, all competing for a staggering cash prize and the chance to be the last one left alive. Yumia Fujisaki and Kaya Kiyohara appear alongside Okada in a story that moves from a historic monastery toward Tokyo, where old codes of honor collide with a brutal new contest.
