Stonehearst Asylum

DramaHorrorMysteryRomanceThriller112 min

Jim Sturgess is a recent Oxford medical graduate who takes a post at a remote 19th-century asylum, where the institution’s unusual calm and Kate Beckinsale’s troubled patient quickly draw his attention. As he settles into the hospital’s routines, the young doctor finds himself caught between unorthodox treatment methods, buried tensions among the residents, and a romance shadowed by secrecy. What appears to be a civilized refuge for the mentally ill begins to look much stranger once he realizes a disturbing change has recently taken place behind the asylum’s locked doors.
