Around the world, animals begin turning on humans in coordinated, increasingly deadly attacks. A zoologist in Africa, a journalist chasing the story, and other specialists from very different fields are pulled into the same crisis as governments scramble to understand what is happening before ordinary life collapses. As sightings spread from isolated incidents to a global pattern, the group follows clues that suggest this is more than a string of random attacks. James Wolk and Kristen Connolly are among those caught in a race to uncover the cause while cities lock down, fear spreads, and every encounter with the natural world becomes a threat.
