In 1933, a desperate actress signs on with an ambitious filmmaker who quietly changes the destination of his movie shoot and sends cast and crew toward the uncharted Skull Island. Once they arrive, the production collapses into a fight to survive as the party is hunted through jungles and ravines by towering prehistoric creatures. At the center of the chaos is Ann Darrow, played by Naomi Watts, who is taken by Kong, a giant gorilla the island’s inhabitants fear and worship. As the survivors scramble to get her back, the expedition turns from filmmaking to capture, and the journey carries Kong from the island into New York City.
