After their parents are killed in a tornado, a brother and sister take opposite paths: he leaves for Seattle to escape the memory, while she dedicates her life to tracking violent weather. Mimi Rogers is the storm researcher who spots a series of tornadoes bearing down on the city, and Robert Moloney is the brother she has to reach before old grief and public disbelief cost valuable time. As the forecasts grow more alarming, family history and disaster-movie stakes collide in a race to convince Seattle that the danger is already on its way.
