In early medieval Scandinavia, farmer Ragnar Lothbrok pushes against the limits of his world. He wants to sail west in search of richer lands, but his local chief insists on the old routes east, turning ambition into open defiance. As Ragnar gathers allies and launches dangerous raids, success brings him wealth, enemies, and a growing claim on power at home. The series follows how one voyage changes a family and a kingdom. Battles, blood feuds, shifting loyalties, and rival rulers widen the conflict, while Ragnar’s marriage and alliances strain under the cost of conquest. Travis Fimmel and Katheryn Winnick appear within a story built around raids, rule, and succession.
