Torn Curtain

DramaRomanceThriller128 min

In the middle of the Cold War, an American scientist abruptly heads behind the Iron Curtain and appears to defect to East Germany, leaving colleagues and allies convinced he has switched sides. His move sets off suspicion on every front, especially for the woman who follows him and finds herself trapped in a world of surveillance, double meanings, and political pressure. As officials, agents, and informants close in, every conversation becomes a test of loyalty and every attempt to move freely carries risk. Paul Newman and Julie Andrews lead a story built around uncertain motives, shifting trust, and the danger of trying to outmaneuver a police state.
