Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon

ComedyHorrorThriller92 min

Nathan Baesel is Leslie Vernon, an aspiring slasher who gives a documentary crew full access as he prepares a reign of terror in the small town of Glen Echo. As a journalist and her team follow his routines, traps, and theories, Leslie coolly breaks down the rules of horror-movie mythology, from the doomed victims to the “final girl.” Scott Wilson is the murder mentor Leslie treats like a legend, while his psychiatrist-nemesis (Robert Englund) knows exactly what kind of threat he’s becoming. The setup turns a serial-killer profile into a dry, gory send-up of slasher logic.
