Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
ActionAdventureDramaWar138 min
After a French warship leaves HMS Surprise badly damaged during the Napoleonic Wars, Captain Jack Aubrey drives his Royal Navy frigate into a relentless pursuit across two oceans, weighing his orders and ambition against the safety of his crew. Russell Crowe is Aubrey, a commander whose confidence is tested at sea and in battle, while Paul Bettany's Dr. Stephen Maturin is the ship's surgeon, naturalist, and the captain's closest friend. The story stays close to life aboard a 19th-century warship: cannon fire, storms, hard discipline, and the uneasy bond between men trapped together far from shore.
