On a weekend exercise in the Louisiana bayou, a National Guard squad goes from routine maneuvers to a fight to survive after they steal local Cajuns’ canoes and fire blanks at the wrong man. Powers Boothe’s Hardin and Keith Carradine’s Spencer are stuck in unfamiliar swamp country with no live ammunition, a fraying chain of command, and no clear way out. As the men split up, argue over what to do, and try to reach safety, the mission’s training-ground rules fall away, leaving them exposed to the terrain and to the locals hunting them through it.
