The Substance
DramaHorrorSci-FiThriller141 min
After a producer discards her for aging out of the spotlight, Demi Moore's fading celebrity turns to a black-market drug that replicates her cells and creates a younger version of herself. Margaret Qualley embodies that new self, a polished double marketed as a better product and a fresh start. The split between the two women turns celebrity image, vanity, and self-reinvention into something physical and unstable, as a comeback fantasy becomes bound up with identity, control, and a body that no longer belongs to just one person.
