Lorenzo's Oil
Drama135 min
When five-year-old Lorenzo Odone is diagnosed with a rare degenerative nerve disease, his parents are told there is no cure and almost no research underway. Nick Nolte is Augusto Odone, an economist who throws himself into medical journals and specialist conferences, while Susan Sarandon’s Michaela matches him step for step as they challenge doctors, scientists, and the limits of accepted treatment. Rooted in a true story and unfolding in 1980s America, the film follows a family forced to learn the language of medicine as their search for answers takes over every part of their lives.
