After the rape and murder of her 17-year-old daughter, Sally Field is Karen McCann, a Los Angeles mother left shattered when the man accused of the crime is not convicted. With the legal system failing her, Karen begins tracking Kiefer Sutherland’s Robert Doob on her own, turning grief into fixation and anger into a plan for revenge. As she watches his routines and starts preparing to confront him, the film follows the line between private justice and vigilantism.
