Fire Island
ComedyRomance106 min
On their annual trip to Fire Island Pines, a close-knit group of queer friends arrive expecting a week of parties, hookups, and beach-house chaos, but romance and class tensions quickly complicate the vacation. Joel Kim Booster and Bowen Yang center the story as best friends moving through the island’s flirtations, social hierarchies, and bruised feelings while the rest of their crew gets pulled into the same swirl of desire, jealousy, drinks, and drugs. Inspired by Pride and Prejudice, the film places a Jane Austen framework inside a contemporary gay summer escape, where chosen family and status anxiety keep colliding.
