The Beguiled
DramaThrillerWar105 min
Near the end of the Civil War, a wounded Union soldier finds shelter at an isolated Southern girls’ school, where his presence unsettles the household and stirs desire, jealousy, and suspicion. Clint Eastwood is the injured Yankee, using charm and vulnerability to secure his place as the women around him begin to compete for his attention. Geraldine Page and Elizabeth Hartman are among the women who take him in, and the sealed-off seminary curdles into a tense Southern Gothic standoff.
