An engineering graduate takes a job as secretary of a village panchayat in Phulera, Uttar Pradesh, because better options have not worked out. What looks like a temporary stop turns into a daily tangle of missing infrastructure, local feuds, government paperwork, and small crises that never stay small. As he tries to keep the office running, he has to answer to the village pradhan, work around stubborn routines, and learn how power actually moves in a place he barely understands. Jitendra Kumar anchors the outsider at the center, while Neena Gupta is part of the local leadership that keeps pulling him deeper into village politics and the life he thought he would quickly leave behind.
