Everlasting Regret
DramaRomance106 min
Qiyao spends her life in Shanghai, coming of age in the city’s glamorous 1930s and carrying that promise through decades of change, intimacy, and isolation. Sammi Cheng is Qiyao, a woman whose private fortunes rise and fall against a metropolis that keeps remaking itself around her. Tony Ka Fai Leung and Daniel Wu are among the figures who pass through her world as the story follows her from youthful allure into middle age. Shanghai stays in the foreground as much as its heroine, with the city’s shifting face marking each turn in her life.
