On a remote island ruled by mandarin ducks, two laws keep the peace: no flying, and never leave the island. The Emperor knows those rules are tied to an old legend about the Sun Duck, a hidden power the evil witch Ms. Knout once tried to steal and now wants back. When military mallards accidentally invade, a standoff erupts between the Emperor and their commander, even as the Emperor’s son Longway and the commander’s daughter Erica strike up a friendship. Robbie Daymond and Michael Gross are among the voices in a story that brings together feuding bird clans, buried secrets, and a threat aimed at the sun itself.
