The Go-Between

DramaRomance118 min

During a summer visit to a country estate in turn-of-the-century England, schoolboy Leo Colston becomes the courier for a secret affair between an aristocratic young woman and the tenant farmer she cannot openly see. Dominic Guard is Leo, flattered by the attention of Julie Christie’s Marian, who asks him to carry letters to neighboring farmer Ted Burgess (Alan Bates). What begins as a boy’s crush and a series of private errands draws him into an adult world of class boundaries, secrecy, and consequences he barely understands.
