Presumed dead after his CIA career, John Reese is pulled back into action when a secretive billionaire recruits him to stop violent crimes before they happen in New York. Jim Caviezel is Reese, the field operative, while Michael Emerson's Finch has built a machine that identifies people connected to imminent bloodshed without revealing whether they’re victim or perpetrator. Working through surveillance feeds and a network of aliases, the two operate outside official channels, intervening one number at a time as police attention and government secrecy begin to tighten around the system they rely on.
