After a disastrous mistake costs his shoe company hundreds of millions and his girlfriend leaves, Orlando Bloom is Drew Baylor, a designer headed to his family’s Kentucky hometown after his father dies. What starts as a funeral trip pulls him into relatives, old stories, and the awkward work of bringing a parent home. On the flight, Claire Colburn (Kirsten Dunst), a chatty attendant with an open, wandering way of talking, becomes Drew’s unexpected connection as he tries to steady a life that has come apart. Cameron Crowe’s film moves between corporate collapse, family mourning, and a roadside romance.
