Minions: The Rise of Gru
ActionAdventureAnimationComedyCrimeFamilySci-Fi90 min
Young Gru is determined to become a supervillain, and in 1970s America his biggest goal is earning a place in the Vicious 6, the flashy criminal crew he idolizes. Steve Carell is Gru, still a kid with a basement lair and oversized ambitions, while Pierre Coffin’s Minions serve as his eager, accident-prone backup. When Gru makes his pitch to join the group, the scheme backfires and pulls him into a clash with the very villains he wants to impress. The story folds the Despicable Me world back to Gru’s early years, mixing gadget-heavy heists, comic mayhem, and a young mastermind still figuring out how to be bad.
