Shrek
ActionAdventureAnimationComedyFamilyFantasyRomance90 min
Shrek is a swamp-dwelling ogre whose carefully isolated life is upended when banished fairy-tale creatures crowd onto his land. To get his home back, Mike Myers is Shrek on a reluctant mission for Lord Farquaad: rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon-guarded castle. Along the way he’s saddled with Eddie Murphy’s fast-talking Donkey, whose nonstop commentary turns the trek into a parody of storybook romance, noble rescues, and princess-and-prince rules. Cameron Diaz voices Fiona, the center of Farquaad’s bargain and the reason Shrek’s simple deal starts getting more complicated the farther he gets from his swamp.
